November Wrap Up

Another month has come and gone. You know, I really thought as the winter months settle in, I’d really snuggle down in my bed, or in the bath (does anyone else read in the bath? No, just me. Ok!) and get a lot of reading done. But I didn’t. At all. In fact I think I’ve read less this month than I have in a while.

It’s been a strange reading month. I’ve read some fantastic books. One that’s probably become one of my favourites of all time. One that I’ll never forget. One I didn’t expect to enjoy but absolutely loved. So maybe I could say it’s been quality over quantity?

So this month (I’m a little ashamed to say this) I only read six books! Six! Honestly Jack, it’s not good enough. Well, I guess I’ll talk a little about them now.

First up this month was ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ by Bernadine Evaristo. Brilliant, genius. This is the book that’s become my new favourite. I loved every second of this book. It’s out now 5⭐️

Secondly I read ‘Adults’ by Emma Jane Unsworth. I enjoyed this book, not on the same level as ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ but I still enjoyed it. Wonderfully modern and witty, with a real sense of sadness to it. Speaks for a generation. It’s out January 30th 2020. 4⭐️

Next up was ‘My Dark Vanessa’ by Kate Elizabeth Russell. This book sure packs a punch. It’s the kind of book you read, it’s uncomfortable, but you’ll never forget it. This books gonna be huge next year. It’s out March 31st 2020. 5⭐️

Then I read the ARC of ‘Reverie’ by Ryan La Sala. I don’t read much fantasy, but I throughly enjoyed this book once I got into it. So imaginative and unapologetically queer af. It’s out December 3rd. 4⭐️

Fifth this month was ‘Staying Up With Hugo Best’ by Erin Somers. This was a quick read. Sort of fun. It was interesting premise but sort of failed to really take off for me. But I did enjoy the ending. It’s out January 23rd 2020. 3⭐️

Lastly was ‘The Other Bennet Sister’ by Janice Hadlow. I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. I couldn’t put it down. I was incredibly sad when it was over. Adored it. It’s out January 9th 2020. 5⭐️

So that’s it, that’s my month. To be honest, I wonder if I’ve had a few book hangovers this month. Where some of them have just been spectacular and I couldn’t begin another book.

Anyway, I hope you all had a better month than I did. Let me know.

Until the next review
