August Wrap Up

I can’t believe another month has flown by, yes I know I say this every Wrap Up but it’s true.

Phew, it’s been a busy reading month for me. I’ve been lucky enough to review a few ARCs that come out in September, so I’ve been making my way through those.

Also, I have to say I’m extremely happy to announce I’ve broken my personal record. I’ve mashed to read, are you ready? Drum roll… 10 books! 10! I can’t believe it. I know compared to some of you this would still be a slow month, but I’m damn proud of myself.

So, let’s get on with these 10 books:

Trinkets by Kristen Smith. I enjoyed this YA book, with my favourite thing about being the friendship forms between the three girls. It’s was a super quick read that I found hard to put down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Next up was ‘Ask Again, Yes’ by Mary Beth Keane. This is easily one of my favourite books of the year. Just fantastic. A tale of humanity and forgiveness. I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Then I read ‘The Girl The Sea Gave Back’ by Aidrenne Young. I was so looking forward to this book, but I was slightly let down. It had some great battle scenes, but it needed more characterisation, more explanations, but I still enjoyed it. Out September 3rd.

‘Today We Go Home’ by Kelli Estes. What fantastic historical fiction novel. This one deals with some tough issues but handles them beautifully, I really enjoyed this book. Set in two different times, they blend together seamlessly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out September 3rd.

Next was ‘Meet Me In Monaco’ by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb. I bloody loved this book. I knew it would be 5 stars from the first page. Captures old Hollywood glamour perfectly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out September 5th.

‘Lie With Me’ by Philippe Bensson. Not only is this one of my favourite reads of the year, it’s become one of my favourites of all time. It was beautiful, ethereal, real. I’d give this book all the stars if I could. I adore this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out September 5th in the UK

Then I read ‘American Royals’ by Katherine McGee. This one was full of cliches, but it didn’t stop me loving it. I was so hooked by the end, so mad I’ve got to wait a year till the next one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our September 5th.

Next was ‘A Single Thread’ by Tracy Chevalier. I enjoyed this historical fiction novel, it had some fantastic characters. Loved their modern attitudes and how it clashed with the time they live in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out September 5th.

‘Overdrawn’ by … This plot of this one was a tad strange at times but I did enjoy this one. Maybe a little cliche but I did shed a tear at the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out September 1st

What was this? Seriously, I think I enjoyed 3 out of the 15 stories. But I don’t think I was it’s intended audience. Great if your fan of Alice in Wonderland, with a twist. ⭐️⭐️ Out September 17th.

So, I’ve had a great month. I even managed to find a book that will stay with me for a long time, a new favourite. That’s always a great thing.

Until the next review
